North Andover, M.A.—Merrimack Softball split their double header with the Le Moyne Dolphins falling in game one 5-3, before picking up the win in game two, winning by a score of 6-2 on a chilly Saturday afternoon.
Game 1: Merrimack started off on the right foot as
Madison Cerpa powered a two run homer to center field to take the opening lead. Le Moyne would tie the score in the fourth but the Warriors would re-take the lead after an infield hit from
Thiana Brito scored
Sam Russalesi. Le Moyne however would take the lead for good in the sixth inning and even though the Warriors would bring the winning run to the plate they were unable to pull out the win.
Game 2: The second game of the afternoon began like the first one, as
Madison Cerpa it her second two run home run of the day, putting Merrimack in the lead in the first inning. Merrimack would keep it rolling in the second as
Ellen Hubbard's double pushed across the Warriors third run. Le Moyne cut the lead back to two, but
Sofia Palyan would score two more runs with a two RBI single, and
Madison Cerpa would cash in again with an RBI single win the sixth, the Warriors sixth run of the contest. Le Moyne would push across one more run in the seventh, but
Anna Gedacht would close out the complete game to get the Warriors the lead.

Merrimack stays at home when they take on the UMass Lowell Riverhawks for a doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon, game times are at 2 and 4 PM.
