Martone-Mejail Field

Martone-Mejail Field is home to the men's and women's soccer and softball teams.

In the summer of 2017, the facility -- which had been the only turf field on campus for over 10 years up until that point -- underwent a number of improvements, the primary being the replacement of the synthetic turf surface while redesigning a portion of the venue for the incorporation of a softball diamond. Permanent dugouts, a new batting cage and a new bullpen area were also constructed as part of the project to enhance the facility and provide practice and competition space for the nearly 100 student-athletes from the men's and women's soccer and softball programs, as well as many more students and student-athletes who use the area for practices, intramurals and club sports.

Martone-Mejail Field initially received a $1.2 million renovation in the summer of 2005 and the installation of a FieldTurf surface highlighted that upgrade. In addition, the facility was equipped with stadium lighting which allowed teams to play and practice in the nighttime beginning in the fall of 2005.

Several Northeast-10 Conference and NCAA post-season contests have been hosted at this facility, which has a capacity of over 3,000. A press box is located at the top of the grandstand and includes electricity, phone lines, and a public address system. The field includes spacious bench areas for both teams as well as auxiliary practice areas.

Martone-Mejail Field annually has served host to a number of postseason championships over the years, including several Northeast-10 Conference championship events and NCAA Tournament events, including the Men's Soccer East Region Finals and the national quarterfinals.

Seating sections surround the entire venue, highlighted with the grandstand on the press box sideline that features a number of chair-back seats. Auxiliary sets of bleachers are located throughout the facility as well, providing spectator seating for both soccer and softball events.
