After a heralded four-year career including the last two seasons as team captain at Merrimack, Ricky Smith returned to the program in 2019 as a Volunteer Assistant Coach.Â
He appeared in 108 games, starting in 92, as one of the top backstop's in program history. Smith slashed .256/.339/.355 over his four-year career, while totaled 90 hits, 57 RBI, 46 runs, 20 doubles and five homers. He captained the first Merrimack conference tournament winning squad in 22 years, and the first Warriors team to reach the NCAA Tournament in 19 years.Â
A native of Weymouth, Mass., Smith graduated from Merrimack in 2018 with a degree in exercise science.Â
