NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. -- Â The Merrimack College softball team earned a road sweep against Sacred Heart on Saturday.

In the first game, the Warriors brought a persistent offense that posted 11 hits and five runs on the day.
Courtney Lanpher bolstered the efforts in the circle with no runs and three hits and five strikeouts in her complete game effort.

The Warriors took game two on extra base hits, with
Sarah Reisler hitting an RBI triple before
Abigail Amato hit a two run home run in the fourth to support the stellar pitching effort by
Katelyn Thompson.

Rapid Recap (Game One)
- Merrimack's persistence at the plate paid off early in the top of the second. The bases were loaded after a single by Kelly Dovi, Courtney Lanpher reaching on a fielder's choice and a walk by Madie Fornwalt. Lucy Colarusso reached first on a fielder's choice with Dovi tagged out at home, before a bases loaded walk by Tiffany Mangiameli brought in the first run in.
- Quick to the jump again in the third, Abigail Amato hit a leadoff double followed by a walk by Gabby Comeau. Jenna Bradish pinch ran for Comeau, with the runners advancing into scoring position on a wild pitch. Dovi sent a triple to right, bringing in both runners to score.
- Madie Fornwalt worked a two out walk in the top of the fifth, advancing to third on a double by Lucy Colarusso. Viviana Bocanegra pinch hit and smashed a single up the middle to bring in Fornwalt.
- The Warriors capped off their scoring in the top of the seventh, as Dovi singled for her third hit of the day. Lanpher's bunt single advanced Dovi before Fornwalt's fly to left moved her to third. Colarusso singled Dovi home for Merrimack's final run of the game.

Rapid Recap (Game Two)
- Sacred Heart took a lead in the bottom of the third, after a one out double to center was brought in on a double to right for a 1-0 lead.
- Merrimack responded in the top of the fourth with Tiffany Mangiameli working a leadoff single to left. Sarah Reisler sent a triple to deep center to bring in Mangiameli to draw the game even.
- With Reisler aboard, Abigail Amato rocketed a home run to deep left center for a two run homer, good for her third of the year.
- Katelyn Thompson was firing on all cylinders in her complete game effort, allowing one run and four hits—only conceding two walks. The sophomore fanned a season-high five batters in her first win of the year.
