North Andover, MA- The Merrimack Women's Softball team were defeated in their first two home games this season by the Boston University Terriers by scores of 9-0 and 2-1 on a comfortable early spring day at Martone-Mejail Field.

GAME 1: Boston University jumped to the early lead as they had an RBI single in the first inning, the game was scoreless for the next inning until the Terriers tacked on three more runs in the third before scoring another with a sac fly in the fourth. Boston University would then score a grand slam for the final runs of the first game.
Notes and Numbers
Courtney Lanpher had the lone hit for the Warriors.
GAME 2: The Terriers started game two similar to game one, scoring the games first run but the Warriors would battle back and tie the score at one as
Madie Fornwalt scored
Ellen Hubbard with a single in the third inning. The game would remain tied until the sixth inning where a Terriers home run put them ahead for good, The Warriors would two runners in the final half inning but could not tie the score ending the game.

Madie Fornwalt went the distance pitching all seven innings, allowing two runs and striking out three.
UP NEXT:
The Warriors will play the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils in a doubleheader matchup on Sunday, first pitch for both of those games are at 1 PM and 3 PM respectively.
