Auburn, AL- The Merrimack Women's Softball team was defeated by the Brown Bears and the Auburn Tigers this afternoon in the first two games of the Plainsman Invite Tournament on Friday afternoon.

GAME 1:
Both teams were scoreless in the first two innings of play before the Warriors exploded for a five run inning with
Ellen Hubbard singling home
Thiana Brito then
Alex Miller would score. Hubbard shortly after before she was scored by
Madison Cerpa, and to end the inning the Warriors tacked two more runs on a throwing error.
Brown would score twice in the bottom half of the third inning, before taking the lead in the next inning with a four run effort. Brown would add one more run before the first game of the afternoon.

GAME 2: Auburn scored six runs in the bottom of the first to jump into the early lead, before adding three more in the second, and two more in the third.
Merrimack's best chance was in the fourth inning when
Madison Cerpa doubled to left center, but was ultimately left stranded.
Auburn would score more run in the fifth before the game came to a close.

The Warriors will play the Bears and Tigers again tomorrow to finish out their 4 game slate in the Plainsman tournament.
