Womens Cross Country Places Third at Shacklette Invitational
MANCHESTER, NH – Katelyn Meagher (Mansfield,
MA) was fourth overall, leading the Merrimack
women’s cross country team to a third-place finish at the
Shacklette Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Meagher finished in a time of 20:16, while freshman Julie
Binney (South Easton, MA) was seventh in her first
collegiate race, and Jennifer Richard (Wendell,
MA) placed tenth.
Saint Rose captured the race with 53 points, narrowly edging
Bentley, who racked up 54 points. Merrimack had 63 points, with
Saint Anselm (76), Southern New Hampshire (122), Assumption (140)
and Franklin Pierce (211) rounding out the final results.
Merrimack is idle next weekend before competing in the Codfish Bowl
on September 26.
