Meagher Leads Women’s Cross Country in Bryant Invitational

SMITHFIELD, RI - Sophomore Katie Meagher (Mansfield, MA) picked up right where she left off from last season, placing 24^th, tops among Merrimack runners Friday at the Bryant Invitational.

In a non-scoring, 5K race, Meagher, an all-conference selction in 2008 as a freshman, was 24^th in a time of 20:54.37, 46 seconds faster than her teammate, Jennifer Richard (Wendell, MA), who was 40^th in a time of 21:38.85.

Christina Fisher (Mansfield Center, CT) placed 47^th in her first collegiate race in a time of 22:05.76, while Rebecca Ainscow (Derry, NH) was right behind her in 50^th in 22:25.24.

The Warriors head to the Shacklette Invitational next weekend hosted by Saint Anselm College.
