Women's Volleyball Sweeps Southern Connecticut,3-0, on Saturday
WARRIORS EARN FIRST NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE VICTORY OF THE SEASON AGAINST THE OWLS
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Junior outside hitter Stephanie Sheehan (Smithtown, N.Y.) led the Warriors offense with 19 kills and nine digs, while the Merrimack College women's volleyball team swept Southern Connecticut, 3-0, Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
In the first stanza, the Owls took an early 7-6 lead but after a kill from Corrine Gosselin (Lawrence, Mass.), Merrimack went on a 5-0 run to take a 12-8 lead. The Navy and Gold took set one, 25-17.
Merrimack took an early 10-8 lead over the Owls and securing the second set, 25-16. The Warriors opened the third set 18-10 before taking the final set and match, 25-19.
To help lead the Warriors to its first Northeast-10 Conference victory this season, Gosselin contributed 11 of the 52 kills for Merrimack. Rookie Tara Stuhr (Huntington Beach, Calif.) recorded 47 assists while sophomore Madison Burke (San Jose, Calif.) collected 13 digs. Sheehan, Stuhr, and Gosselin each collected three blocks on the afternoon.

- Freshman Jocelyn McLain (Fort Collins, Colo.) tallied eight kills and three digs.

The Warriors return to action Tuesday, Oct. 8 when they travel to Manchester, N.H. for a Northeast-10 conference battle against Saint Anselm. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
