Women's Volleyball Defeats Saint Anselm in Home Opener, 3-1
STEPHANIE SHEEHAN AND TARA STUHR LEAD WARRIORS TO A 3-1 VICTORY OVER THE HAWKS
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's volleyball team registered its second win on Tuesday with a 3-1 win over Saint Anselm College. The Navy and Gold improved to 2-6 overall on the year with the victory.

How It Happened
The Warriors dropped the first set, 25-19, falling behind early and unable to play catch-up against the Hawks. The Navy and Gold forced Saint Anselm to play on their heels and taking set two, 25-20. In the third set, Merrimack quickly responded and sealed the frame, 25-21. The Warriors strung together and shut the door on the Hawks at 25-20.
Leading the Warriors charge for the second straight game was junior outside hitter Stephanie Sheehan (Smithtown, N.Y), she tallied 15 kills wth a .256-hitting percentage, 11 digs, and two blocks as she improved her double-double total to two this season. Freshman Tara Stuhr (Huntington Beach, Calif.) added her third double-double of the year with 38 assist and 11 digs. Junior Madison Burke (San Jose, Calif.) dug 16 balls on the night and senior Jackie Jones (Amherst, N.H.) managed eight kills.
