WARRIORS FALL SHORT TO ST. EDWARDS AND ADAMS ST. ON FRIDAY
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's volleyball team dropped a tough three-set match to non-conference opponent St. Edward's for game one in the Hilltopper-Rattler Classic, and in the late game, despite junior outside hitter Stephanie Sheehan (Smithtown, N.Y.) posting 10 kills and six digs, the Warriors were swept by Adams St 3-0.

How It Happened
Game 1: Sheehan and Jennifer Cain (Melrose, Mass.) led the offense for Warriors with nine kills apiece.Jocelyn McLain (Fort Collins, Colo.) and Corinne Gosselin (Lawrence, Mass.) recorded four and three kills, respectively. Madison Burke (San Jose, Calif.) chimed in with 11 digs, while Tara Stuhr (Huntington Beach, Calif.) recorded her first double-double of the season with 22 assists and 11 digs.
In the first set, Merrimack rallied for their first lead of the match at 3-2 until St. Edwards took control of the game and defeated the Warriors 25-11. Merrimack put pressure on St. Edwards in the second set, but the Hilltopper's prevailed 25-22. For the third set, St. Edwards managed a quick third to end the set, 25-18, and match 3-0.
Game 2: Outside hitter Sheehan collected a team-high 10 kills. McLain and Cain both contributed seven kills a piece. Stuhr added 29 assisted to her season total with three digs and a block. Burke collected season-high 21 digs.
The Warriors battled in the first, but Adams St. won a tough fought first set 25-18. Both teams traded points as the Warriors looked poised to claim a set of their own up to 9-8. Adams St. rallied back and proved to be too much for the Warriors as they take set two 25-21. Adams St. took control of set three and closed out the final set 25-19.
