Merrimack Volleyball Tabbed 12th in Northeast-10 Coaches' Poll
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Merrimack College women's volleyball team has been selected to finish 12TH in the Northeast-10 Coaches' Preseason Poll, as announced today by the conference office. The Warriors received 49 points. Northeast -10 Conference Champions, the University of New Haven Chargers earned the number one spot in the poll with 196 points.
Coming in at second and third is NCAA East Region quarterfinalist Franklin Pierce (169) and semifinalist Adelphi (165). Stonehill comes in at number five with 137 points. Southern Connecticut (127) placed sixth in the rankings, followed by Pace (126), American International (120) and Bentley (80) in seventh, eighth, and ninth, respectively.
Tenth-place Le Moyne earned 73 points while Southern New Hampshire received 58. Moving into bottom third, Merrimack (49) inched passed Assumption by just three points (46). Rounding out the 15-team poll was Saint Anselm (24) and Saint Michael's (24).
The Warriors start their 2013-14 season heading down to Texas to face St. Edward's in the Hilltopper-Rattler Classic on Friday, Sept. 6. Game is scheduled for 2 p.m.
