Women's Volleyball Returns To Campus on Wednesday For Preseason Camp

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Led by 2nd-year head coach T.J. Hajjar, the Merrimack women's volleyball team officially opened the 2012 campaign with the beginning of preseason camp on Wednesday afternoon at Bert Hammel Court.

The Warriors return 10 key contributors to a team that went 5-22 overall and 2-13 in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Warriors will open their season with four non conference games in Florida at the Sharks Classic.

The volleyball program only graduated one senior in 2011, meaning there certainly is a strong returning core that will revolve around senior Jenna Reilly (Northport, NY) and sophomore Stephanie Sheehan (Smithtown, NY). The Warriors will also rely on senior Brianna Trabucco (Canton, Mass.), who is returning from an injury that cost her some playing time last season.

Defensively the Warriors will be looking for major contributions from its two incoming freshman liberos Hannah Pavlik (Monument, CO) and Madison Burke (San Jose, Calif.).

The Warriors home portion of their schedule will start on Tuesday, September 18 at 7 p.m. as they will play host to the Southern New Hampshire Penmen.
