NEW ORLEANS, LA- Sophomore Briana Devereaux (Londonderry, NH) of the Merrimack women's indoor track and field team has been named an all-region honoree by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). She is one of 1,012 runners from across the country to receive an all-region nod.
The USTFCCCA awards all-region honors to runners in the region's top five of each event. Devereaux received all-region accolades for owning a top-five time in the 800 meter run this season.
This year, Devereaux claimed a pair of second-place finishes at the Northeast-10 Championships in the 1,000 meter run and the distance medley relay. The sophomore also finished seventh in the 800 at the New England Championships.
Devereaux became the first runner in program history to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Her time of 2:15.87 in the 800 meter run at the New England Championships met the provisional NCAA qualifying mark.
Devereaux and the Warriors will kick off the spring season at the Husky Spring Open March 17 hosted by Northeastern University.
