BOSTON, MA- The Merrimack women's indoor track and field team competed at the Joe Donahue Indoor Games hosted by Northeastern University and the Terrier Invitational held by Boston University Friday evening.
Collectively, the Warriors turned in eight Northeast-10 qualifying times Friday.
Briana Devereaux (Londonderry, NH) paced the women's squad with a 13th-place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:22.93 to meet the Northeast-10 standard.
Desiree DeLeon (Salem, MA) ran Northeast-10 qualifying marks of 8.02 seconds in the 55 meter dash and 28.43 in the 200 meters to lead the Warriors' sprinters. Leah Hall (Lynn, MA) also qualified in the 55 meter dash with a time of 8.08 seconds.
In the mile run, Kelsey Grimmer (Shelton, CT) posted a time of 5:36.07 to qualify for the Northeast-10 Championship meet.
At the Terrier Invitational, Fiona Coleman (Windsor, CT) and Rebecca Ainscow (Derry, NH) both turned in Northeast-10 qualifying times in the women's 5,000 meter run. Coleman set a new school record with a time of 18:25.84 while Ainscow clocked in at 19:17.86.
"We had some solid performances tonight against a very competitive field. With a bit of a break ahead of us, we will work hard to prepare for our next meet," said head coach Matt Pimentel.
The Warriors return to action February 11 at the Valentine Invitational.
