Women’s Track Lifts Personal Bests at Terrier Invitational
BOSTON, Mass.- The Merrimack women's track team competed well at the Terrier Invitational held at the Track and Tennis Center on the campus of Boston University.
The Warriors had 10 runners post times worthy of a spot in the Northeast-10 Championship field.
Caitlin Kasala-Hallinan (Worcester, Mass.), Ashley Bock (Sutton, Mass.) and Kasey Pickett (Plymouth, Mass.) had already qualified for the conference meet but the trio turned in times under the necessary mark in the women's 5,000 meters. Anne Bajor (Methuen, Mass.) led the Merrimack contingency in the event with a time of 19:10.33. Along with Bajor, Kasala-Hallinan, Bock and Pickett, others who qualified for the league championships were Rebecca Ainscow (Derry, N.H.), Fiona Coleman (Windsor, Conn.) and Alex Maas (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.).
Kayla Morong (Topsham, Maine) was Merrimack's lone qualifier in the women's mile run with a time of 5:45.94. Julie Binney (South Easton, Mass.) and Ashley Sarris (Shelton, Conn.) finished back-to-back with each coming in under the needed time for a spot at the Northeast-10 Championship meet in the women's 3,000 meters.
The Warriors return to the Track and Tennis Center at Boston University February 11 for the Valentine's Invitational.
