Women’s Track Claims 6th at Tufts Invite

In the mile run, Ashley Sarris (Shelton, Conn.) crossed the finish line in ninth place while Kayla Morong (Topsham, Maine) garnered a 16th place finish in the event. Anne Bajor (Methuen, Mass.) clocked in with a time of 11:10.49 in the 3,000 meter run, good for sixth. Rebecca Ainscow (Derry, N.H.) captured 14th while Fiona Coleman (Windsor, Conn.) finished 16th.

Caitlin Kasala-Hallinan (Worcester, Mass.) ran a 19:20.70 in the 5,000 meter run to claim third, marking a new personal best. Ashley Bock (Sutton, Mass.), Julie Binney (South Easton, Mass.) and Kasey Pickett (Plymouth, Mass.) finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. All four runners in the 5,000 meter run posted qualifying times for the Northeast-10 Championships.

The relay team of Bajor, Sarris, Morong and Alex Maas (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.) earned fourth in the 4x800 meter relay.

"Both teams competed well today. We had several strong performances overall. Anne Bajor and Caitlin Kasala-Hallinan both showed they are among the top runners in the conference," said head coach Matt Pimentel. "We will to continue training hard over the next week and look forward to the Greater Boston Invite."

The Warriors will compete against Beantown's best at the Greater Boston Invite January 23. The meet will be held at the Reggie Lewis Center.
