Women's Tennis Falls At Bentley, 7-2

WALTHAM, MA – The Merrimack women's tennis team could not pick up their third win in four matches on Thursday afternoon at Bentley as they fell by the score of 7-2. With the loss, Merrimack is now 4-9 overall and 4-3 in conference action.

In singles action, the Warriors picked up their only two points of the afternoon. In no. 1 singles, Shakee Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) got back on track with a win as she downed Ludmila Yamus by the score of 7-6, 6-3. Kara Hole (Portsmouth, RI) stayed hot for the Warriors with a 6-3, 6-4 victory in no. 2 singles.

The doubles pairing of Messina and Alyx Barnes (Portsmouth, NH) put up a good fight in no. 1 doubles action as they were downed by the score of 8-6. Hole and Mollie Fitzgerald (Melrose, Mass.) played well in no. 2 doubles but they fell by the score of 8-5 to the Falcons pairing of Litton and Sotomayor.

The Warriors will travel to Southern New Hampshire for a conference match on Saturday at 11 a.m.
