Women's Tennis Downs Conference Foe Saint Anselm, 6-3

MANCHESTER, NH – The Merrimack women's tennis team defeated conference foe Saint Anselm on Monday afternoon by the score of 6-3. With the win, Merrimack improves to 3-7 overall and 3-1 in Northeast-10 conference action.

Junior Kara Hole (Portsmouth, RI) dominated all afternoon long as she picked up a singles victory over Katherine Morrissey by the score of 6-2 and 6-4 and also teamed up with Mollie Fitzgerald (Melrose, Mass.) in no. 2 doubles for the 8-4 victory. Fitzgerald also picked up a singles victory in no. 4 singles by the score of 7-5 and 6-2. Rachel Muller (North Andover, Mass.) pulled out a three set victory in singles action by the score of 6-4, 2-6 and 6-4 while also picking up a doubles victory with Alyx Barnes (Portsmouth, NH) by the score of 8-6. Barnes also dominated her singles match by the score of 6-4 and 6-1.

The Warriors will return to the courts on Tuesday, April 2 as they will travel to take on New Haven at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center in Yale at 1 p.m.
