SOUTH EASTON, MA- Kara Hole (Portsmouth, RI) and Shakee Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) represented the Merrimack women's tennis team on the Northeast-10 All-Conference teams, as announced by the league office Thursday.
Hole garnered second team singles honors while Messina earned a spot on the third team singles and All-Rookie squad.
Hole sported an 11-11 overall record in singles action on the year. The sophomore owned an 11-10 mark at the No. 2 singles position while going 9-2 against conference opponents this season.
Messina boasted a 15-6 record in singles play in her first collegiate season. The freshman held a 14-5 mark at the top singles spot for the Warriors, including a 10-1 record in league matches. Messina was honored as the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week four times during the 2011-12 campaign.
Merrimack posted a 9-14 overall record on the year with an 8-5 mark in the Northeast-10 Conference. The Warriors advanced to the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament for the fifth-consecutive season, earning the No. 6 seed.
Merrimack suffered a 5-0 loss at third-seeded Southern NH in the quarterfinals of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament.
