NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack women's tennis team has announced its 15-match spring schedule. The Warriors will return to the courts February 25 with a Northeast-10 Conference match at Saint Michael's.
After traveling to Saint Anselm March 13, Merrimack open up a four-game stretch against non-league opponents March 18 against Chestnut Hill. The Warriors will face Colby March 20, Hamilton March 21 and Bethune-Cookman March 22 in the final non-conference tilt of the season.
Merrimack will host Franklin Pierce in the first home Northeast-10 match of the spring March 28 followed by a home match against New Haven.
The Warriors will travel to Pace and Adelphi for a pair of back-to-back road contests March 31 and April 1. Merrimack will return to North Andover to host Saint Rose and Southern NH, the defending Northeast-10 Conference champions, April 6 and 7.
The Warriors will close out the 2012 regular season with matches at Bentley and American International as well as a home game against Stonehill April 13.
Merrimack will head into the spring with a 3-2 overall record and a 2-0 mark in the Northeast-10 Conference. The Warriors claimed wins over Assumption, Le Moyne and Roberts Wesleyan during the fall slate.
Courtney Garvey (Woburn, MA) and Shakee Messina (Caracas, Venezuela) pace Merrimack will four victories in singles action this season. The doubles tandem of Mollie Fitzgerald (Melrose, MA) and Kara Hole (Portsmouth, RI) leads the Warriors with four wins through the fall.
Head coach Sean Tully is in his first season at the helm of the Merrimack women's tennis program.
