Women’s Tennis Tops Le Moyne 7-2

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.- The Merrimack women's tennis team captured its sixth Northeast-10 victory Saturday afternoon with a 7-2 win over Le Moyne. The Warriors raised their overall record to 6-6 and their conference mark to 6-2. The Dolphins fall to 2-10 on the season and 2-7 in the league.

Merrimack claimed all three doubles points. Alyx Barnes (Portsmouth, N.H.) and Courtney Garvey (Woburn, Mass.) picked up an 8-3 victory at the No. 1 position. Kara Hole (Portsmouth, R.I.) teamed up with Mollie Fitzgerald (Melrose, Mass.) to earn an 8-2 win at the second doubles slot. The duo of Erin McMahon (Wilmington, Mass.) and Katie Veasey (Atkinson, N.H.) rolled to an 8-3 victory at the No. 3 spot.

The Dolphins took the top two singles matches. Hole dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision at the top slot and Garvey suffered 6-4 losses in the first and third set while earning a 6-0 win in the second.

Barnes earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at the third singles match. Fitzgerald prevailed 6-1, 7-6 at the No. 4 position while Kylie Waddington (South Glastonbury, Conn.) picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win at the fifth slot. McMahon took the sixth singles match 8-4 for the Warriors.

Merrimack continues Northeast-10 plat as it visits St. Rose Sunday, April 3.
