Women’s Tennis Falls to SUNY New Paltz

ORLANDO, Fla.- The Merrimack women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision Monday to SUNY New Paltz. The Warriors move to 4-3 overall with the loss.

The Hawks swept the three doubles matches to own a 3-0 leading at the beginning of singles play.

Kara Hole (Portsmouth, R.I.) claimed a close 6-4, 7-5 victory at the No. 1 singles position. At the sixth singles slot, Erin McMahon (Wilmington, Mass.) battled back from dropping the first set 6-0 to take edge out the second set 7-5. The sophomore captured a 10-7 win in the third-set super-tiebreaker to prevail for Merrimack's second point of the match.

Merrimack continues play in Florida against Savannah College of Art and Design March 22.
