Women’s Tennis Swept by SCAD

ORLANDO, Fla.- The Merrimack women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision Tuesday to Savannah College of Art and Design. The Warriors move to 4-4 overall with the loss while the Bees improve to 6-1. SCAD was ranked No. 8 in the most recent NAIA national poll.

The Bees breezed through the doubles matches and surrendered just two games.

Courtney Garvey (Woburn, Mass.) narrowly fell in the first set 6-4 to SCAD's Theresa Schmaus at the No. 2 singles slot before suffering a 6-0 loss in the second set. The Bees convincingly won the remaining matches en route to their fourth-straight 9-0 win.

Merrimack continues play in Florida against Hope College March 23.
