Gustafson, deMont, Gramprey Chosen for NSCAA All-East Region Team

NORTH ANDOVER, MA - Three members of the Merrimack women's soccer team were chosen for the NSCAA Division II All-East Region Team, it was announced earlier this week.

With senior captains Gabrielle Gramprey (Brockton, MA) and Brittany Gustafson (East Hampton, CT) on the first and third team, respectively and junior Lindsey deMont (Littleton, MA) on the second team, Merrimack is only one of two teams in the region to have a player on all three teams.

Helping Merrimack to a 13-6-4 record and third straight NCAA East Regional berth, Gramprey was the Warriors leading scorer with 13 goals and eight assists.  She also ranked third in the Northeast-10 Conference in points (34) and assists (8).

deMont anchored a Merrimack defense that maintained a 0.95 goals against average over the year, while the junior led all Northeast-10 defenders with six assists on the season.

Voted the most valuable player of the Merrimack team this year, goalkeeper Gustafson recorded a 12-5-4 mark, while having the third-best save percentage (.877) in the Northeast-10.  The senior captain also helped Merrimack advance in a pair of postseason shoot-outs against Adelphi in the Northeast-10 quarterfinals and UMass-Lowell in the NCAA East Region first round.

Merrimack was ranked as high as fifth in the East Region for the second straight year and won 10-plus games for a 25^th straight season under head coach Gabe Mejail.
