Gramprey Nets Hat Trick in 5-1 Win
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Gabrielle Gramprey (Brockton,
MA) continued her excellent week, notching a hat trick in
Merrimack’s 5-1 win over Pace University Saturday
afternoon.
Gramprey scored six straight goals for Merrimack, including five
this week in two Warrior home wins.
Merrimack dominated the first half outshooting the Setters 13-1.
Gramprey notched her fifth of the season as Jackie Vickers
(Norwell, MA) intercepted the incoming goal kick, dished
it to Gramprey, who fired it past the goaltender to give the
Warriors the lead.
She then scored twice in a four minute span, breaking the game
open early in the second half, beating Pace backup goaltender
Monique Morey for her sixth and seventh of the year.
Freshman Kara Hennigan (Pawtucket, RI) added a
breakaway tally in the 84th minute, her third of the year.
Alyssa Wollman (Northford, CT) then notched her
first career marker via a header with time winding down.
Dania D’Alessandro added a late goal to ruin the
Warriors’ shutout.
Merrimack out shot the Setters 26-5.
The Warriors (4-1-2, 2-1-1 NE-10) visit New Haven Tuesday (4
p.m.).
