Warriors Blank Dowling College, 3-0

NORTH ANDOVER, MA - Sophomore Gabrielle Gramprey (Brockton, MA) had a goal and two assists to lead the Merrimack College women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Dowling College in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon at Warrior Field.

Senior Hillary McGarr (North Dighton, MA) and sophomore Jackie Vickers (Norwood, MA) also scored for the Warriors, who improved to 5-0-2 on the season. Alicia Commiso made six saves for the Golden Lions, who fell to 4-2.

Gramprey opened the scoring just 56 seconds into the contest. Commiso charged out of the net to play the ball, but Gramprey sidestepped her and knocked in her fourth goal of the season. Freshman Jessie DeGraan (Braintree, MA) and junior Nikki Abruzzese (Morris Plains, NJ) picked up assists on the play.

McGarr's first goal of the season 4:01 into the second half pushed the Merrimack lead to 2-0. Taking a feed from Abruzzese, McGarr drilled a shot from about 35 yards out into the top left corner of the net. Vickers capped the scoring at 63:02 when her shot from 15 yards eluded Commiso. Gramprey recorded assists on both goals.

Senior Shannon Rowan (Fair Haven, NJ) made seven saves to improve to 5-0-2 on the season for Merrimack, which outshot Dowling 16-11.

The Warriors return to action this Saturday when they travel to NY to face Pace University at 3:30 p.m.
