| Title: | Asst. Women's Lacrosse Coach |
Jillian Kirk enters her first season as assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Merrimack College. She will work mainly on the fitness of the team, midfielders, day-to-day practice schedules, recruiting and academic advisor for the team.
Kirk comes to Merrimack after a successful four year playing career at Keene State College in Keene, NH.
"With Jill's foundations in not only lacrosse but in
fitness, she will make immediate contributions to our program by
providing a focus on the fundamentals of the sport as well as
becoming healthier and physically better athletes," said head coach
Corinne Baker. "She has a great background having grown up playing
in Long Island and at the Division III level, and she will bring
those strengths to Merrimack. She will be our fitness coach,
midfielders coach along with handle administrative duties in the
office. We are lucky to have found a coach of Jill's
caliber."
Currently, Kirk is a personal trainer in Nashua. Her main
responsibilities are to design effective and individualized
exercise programs and provide one-on-one fitness instruction to her
clients. Kirk also instructs a total body conditioning class,
offering alternative exercises to accommodate different levels of
fitness.
Previous to becoming a personal trainer, Kirk worked at Infiniti
Sports Performance as a performance coach and receptionist for one
year.
Kirk played four years of lacrosse while at Keene State and led
her team to the LEC Championship in 2009 and 2011 and the ECAC
Championship in 2010. She ranks in the top five in program history
in many categories including second in goals, fourth in assists and
third in points. Kirk also worked at the Keene State College
Bodyworks as a student fitness specialist for one year.
Kirk graduated from Keene State College in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science.
