Women’s Lacrosse Challenges Unbeaten Saint Anselm Saturday Afternoon

WARRIORS CONTINUE NE-10 PLAY WITH A CONFERENCE CLASH AGAINST HAWKS SATURDAY AT MARTONE-MEJAIL FIELD

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – After snapping a six-game losing streak on Tuesday, the Merrimack College women's lacrosse team challenges unbeaten Saint Anselm in a Northeast-10 Conference battle Saturday afternoon at Martone-Mejail Field. Opening draw is scheduled for 12 p.m.

Last Time Out

Southern New Hampshire grabbed an early 1-0 lead to begin the game. However, the Warriors responded with back-to-back goals from Megan Fero (East Manlius, N.Y.) and Danielle Riley (West Point, N.Y.), extending the lead to one (2-1). 

With the score tied at 4-4, the hosts scored three consecutive goals to take their biggest lead of the game at 7-4. But, SNHU was able to cut the three-goal deficit to one (7-6) heading into halftime.

After a quick Warriors' goal to start the second half, SNHU answered with 2-0 scoring run to tie the game at 8-8. However, Shealyn Anthony (Stoneham, Mass.) buried her second goal of the season to help Merrimack take a one-goal (9-8) lead. Merrimack came up on top and ended the game on a 3-0 scoring run to take a 11-8 victory over the Penmen.
