Women's Lacrosse Set for Thursday Clash vs. Grand Valley State on MerrimackAthletics.TV

COMING OFF A DOUBLE OT WIN AGAINST OILERS, MERRIMACK LOOKS FOR 2-0 START THURSDAY

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – After posting a thrilling, double overtime victory at home against Findlay on Sunday afternoon, the Merrimack College women's lacrosse team looks to start the season 2-0 when it hosts Grand State Valley for a Thursday evening battle at Martone-Mejail Field.

Last Time Out
After Findlay tied the game, 13-13, with less than five minutes to go in regulation, the two teams went to overtime where sophomore Aubrie Stouffer (Souderton, Pa.) scored the 14th goal for the Warriors. However, after back-to-back goals from Sarah Lankton, Findlay extended its lead to 15-14. 

With the clock winding down, freshman Megan Fero (East Manlius, N.Y.) would find sophomore Danielle Riley (West Point, N.Y.), who would tie the game at 15-all sending the game into its second overtime period. Riley took the ball, went hard to the net and beat goalkeeper Katie Poorman to record the game-winning goal with 2:13 left to play in the second overtime.
