NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Merrimack women's lacrosse senior defenseman Sarah Salatto (Guilford, CT) has been selected by the IWLCA as a second team All-Regional member. Salatto was one of 64 division II student-athletes to be selected to the All-Regional team.
These athletes are now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-American teams, which will be announced at a later date.
Salatto, a first team all-conference performer, closed out her impressive senior season leading the team in ground balls with 42, good for 12th in the conference, and caused turnovers with 24, good for eight in the conference. Salatto finished the season with four goals and two assists including one game-winning goal. Her 15 draw controls was good for fifth on the team.
Salatto was one of 10 members of the second team from the Northeast-10 Conference. She was also one of three defenseman from the NE-10 named to the team.
The Warriors finished out the 2012 season with a 7-9 overall record including a 7-5 conference mark. The Warriors were defeated in the Northeast-10 Conference quarterfinals by the Stonehill Skyhawks. The Warriors qualified for the NE-10 tournament for the seventh straight season, including every season under the tutelage of current head coach Corinne Baker.
