Lyons Headlines Four Warriors on All-Conference Team


NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Sophomore Liz Lyons (Westwood, MA) was named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference first team, while three of her teammates were also named to the squad.

Lyons, a second-team selection as a freshman in 2008, is the lone Warrior on the first team. A two-way force, Lyons tallied three goals and four assists, while ranking second in the country with 39 caused turnovers. She has 32 ground balls, second on the team.

Lauren Leddy (Sea Girt, NJ) and Kelly Pasquantonio (Plainville, MA) were named to the second-team.

Leddy, who graduates as a three-time all-conference honoree, leads the Warriors with 59 points and is tied for the team lead with 38 goals. She netted five goals in the 24-11 win over Bentley in the Northeast-10 Quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Pasquantonio, an All-American as a sophomore last year, is second on the team with 56 points and tied with Leddy with 38 goals. She has a team-best 64 ground balls and has caused 20 turnovers, second on the Warriors.

Pasquantonio’s sister, Mary Pasquantonio (Plainville, MA) was selected to the All-Rookie team. She tallied 27 points (18 goals, nine assists) this season to go with 27 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers.

Bentley’s Alyssa Ritchie was named the Player of the Year, while Stonehill’s Jackie Craig earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. New Haven’s Maureen Spellman and Southern New Hampshire’s Emily Mongeau were the Co-Freshmen of the Year. Spellman also earned Goalkeeper of the Year honors, while her coach, Jen Fallon, was selected as the Coach of the Year.

Merrimack (8-7, 7-3 NE-10) takes on the top-seed in the NE-10 Tournament New Haven on Saturday in the semifinals at 1 p.m. in New Haven.
