Women’s Golf Inks Three Incoming Recruits during Early Signing Period


NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Third-year head coach Nick Crovetti is pleased to announce that three future student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to join the Merrimack College women's golf team.

The trio is comprised of one Golden State native and two New Yorkers; all three will join the Warriors in the fall of 2014 and will complete their senior years at their respective high schools this spring.

Jessica Wagner | San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo H.S.
Ranked No. 928 in the country via Junior Golf Scoreboard … Top player and captain at Rancho Bernardo High School (San Diego, Calif.) … Shot a two-day total of 147 at the CIF sectional tournament, closing with a final round even-par 72 this past November … Placed tied for fifth at the Chappy Wheeler Invitational, firing rounds of 74-78.     

Crovetti on Wagner: "Jessica has a great natural swing, a lot of talent, and has really come into her own this past year dominating the Southern California region events. We expect she will compete for a spot right away as a freshman. Jessica is another great example of a student-athlete who excels on the course and in the classroom. "  


Alessandra Ricigliano | Scarsdale, N.Y./The Ursuline School
Ranked No. 880 in the country via Junior Golf Scoreboard and No. 418 via the AJGA … Top player and captain at The Ursuline School (New Rochelle, N.Y.) … Placed 12th in AJGA William Penn, firing 77-80-76 and shot a career-low 67 this past summer in the process of winning three MET Jr. PGA tournaments. 

Crovetti on Ricigliano: "Alessandra is a great competitor with a lot of tournament experience and should transition nicely to the college level. She has unlimited potential and is an exciting player to watch. She is serious about the game and will be a great addition to Merrimack College."     

Kristen Gamble - Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius H.S.
Plays the No. 3 position on the Fayetteville Manlius High School golf team (Manlius, N.Y.) … Serves as team captain … Placed sixth in a CNY Junior tournament last summer. 

Crovetti on Gamble: "Kristen has a good attitude and background for the game. She will contend for playing time and expect her over the next four years to be in the mix as a key member and student-
athlete at Merrimack."
