Women’s Golf Finishes Strong at Hartford Invitational
WEST HARTFORD, CT- The Merrimack women's golf team capped off the University of Hartford Invitational with a pair of top-20 finishers Tuesday. The Warriors, the lone Division II squad at the event, played their fourth round of golf in as many days after competing at the Vassar College Invitational April 14-15.
The tournament was held at the par-72 Rockledge Golf Club spanning 5,801 yards.
Lloyd Hoehle (Fullerton, CA) posted a team-low 80 on day two after shooting an 82 in round one to finish in 12th place in the field of 39.
Bethany Arnold (Wrentham, MA) carded a score of 85 in the second round to tie for 14th in the tournament. Arnold paced Merrimack after the opening 18 holes of golf with a 79. Ali Reed (Westborough, MA) placed 24th with rounds of 82 and 87 in the two-day event.
"Lloyd played consistently good golf and had a nice top-15 finish. Bethany, after carding her low collegiate round of 79, played nicely and finished along with Ali who also finished in the top 25, " said head coach Nick Crovetti.
The Warriors will the spring slate at the Jack Leaman Championship April 21-22.
