Women’s Golf Shines on Day 1 of Hartford Invitational
WEST HARTFORD, CT- The Merrimack women's golf team turned in three top-20 performances on day one of the University of Hartford Invitational Monday. The Warriors, the lone Division II squad at the event, played their third round of golf in three days after competing at the Vassar College Invitational April 14-15.
The tournament was held at the par-72 Rockledge Golf Club spanning 5,801 yards.
Bethany Arnold (Wrentham, MA) led Merrimack with a first-round score of 79 to sit in ninth place in the field of 39 golfers. Arnold's 79 ties the lowest score posted this season by the Warriors.
Reed shot a 37 on the front nine to lead Merrimack at the midway point of the round. Arnold and Hoehle both finished the day with a score of 39 on the back nine.
"Bethany recorded her lowest career competitive round today and sits in ninth place. Lloyd and Ali also played steady and sit in the top 20. I am very happy with everyone's play and round today," said head coach Nick Crovetti.
The Warriors will wrap up play at the Hartford University Invitational Tuesday, April 17.
