Women's Golf Starts Spring with Strong Performances at Brown Invitational

BARRINGTON, RI- The Merrimack women's golf team opened the spring slate with strong performances at the Brown Bear Invitational. The event was held Sunday and Monday at Rhode Island Country Club.

The Warriors were led by Ali Reed (Westborough, MA) with a two-day total of 164. The rookie decreased her first-round score of 83 by two strokes as she carded an 81 in round two to finish in 22nd.

Lloyd Hoehle (Fullerton, CA) posted a 174 for the tournament with rounds of 88 and 86 to earn 39th. Bethany Arnold (Wrentham, MA) shot a 91 on day two to finish in 50th place with a total of 176 after a 95 in round one.

"The ladies once again fought back and all three players improved upon their first round scores, which demonstrates to me their positive approach and attitude. We look forward to competing at the Vassar and Hartford Invitationals next week," said head coach Nick Crovetti.

Up next, Merrimack will compete at the Vassar College Invitational April 14-15.
