Ken Gifford
Ken Gifford
Title: Assistant Coach

Ken Gifford begins his second year as assistant coach with the Merrimack women’s crew program in 2012.

Gifford comes to Merrimack after a successful stint as the head coach of Westford Area Community Crew and Westford Academy Crew Club, which he founded in 2009.

Gifford has also spent time as a sculling coach at the Independent Rowing Club in Nashua, NH and as an assistant coach at UMass Lowell. He helped start the Manchester, NH Central High crews.

Gifford holds USRowing level 1, 2 and 3 coaching certifications. He is also a licensed USRowing referee, a certified Concept 2 indoor rowing erg coach and Rowbics instructor.

Gifford has served time in the US Navy and holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from New Hampshire College. He is a member of the International Recreational and Open Water Rowing Association.
