Women’s Crew Stays Undefeated on the Season With a Victory at the Clark Regatta

WORCESTER, MA – The Merrimack women's crew team took to the water in their second regatta of the spring season on Saturday morning at the Clark Regatta. The Warriors picked up the victory in the novice 8 race to stay undefeated on the season.

 "This week we pushed the girls very hard in practice." said head coach Tim Desrosiers. "Our goal was to get off the line a bit faster and to finish a bit stronger and we were able to achieve both of those goals."

The Warriors defeated the Bryant Bulldogs in the novice 8 race for the second consecutive week. Merrimack led the race from wire to wire and defeated the Bulldogs by over 15 seconds as the Warriors finished with a time of 7:45.1. Participating in the race for the Warriors were Jessie Eichel (North Chelmsford, Mass.), Becky Read (Lenox, Mass.), Julia Barry (West Boylston, Mass.), Tamara O'Donnell (Billerica, Mass.), Jane Pavalkis (Rockland, ME), Jenna Zechner (Billerica, Mass.), Kaylee McKenna (Georgetown, Texas), Kelsey Woods (Mashpee, Mass.) and coxswain Emily Moldoff (Salem, NH).

The Warriors will hit the water for their third Regatta of the spring season on April 21 as they will travel to participate in the UMass Lowell Regatta to race against Lowell, Vermont and Bowdoin.
