Women's Basketball to host Courtyard by Marriott Classic

NORTH ANDOVER, MA - The Merrimack women's basketball team hosts the 2nd Annual Courtyard by Marriott Classic this weekend at Volpe Gym for East Stroudsburg University, Tiffin University and #22 University of Tampa.
After East Stroudsburg and Tampa tip off at 5:30pm on Friday, the Warriors will take on the Dragons of Tiffin at 7:30pm for the night cap.
The winners of each contest will match-up on Saturday at 3:00pm following a consolation match at 1:00pm at the Volpe Athletic Complex.
Leading the Warriors so far this season are senior captain Casey Miller (Fairbanks, AK) and sophomore Genn Roy (Granby, MA) who both average 18 points through two games.
Roy scored a career-high 27 points in the season-opener against Dowling College, but the Warriors dropped a 95-86 decision in Oakdale, New York on Sunday.
On Wednesday, Merrimack hosted their Northeast-10 Conference-opener against Bentley University, but dropped their second straight despite a double-double (10 points, 16 rebounds) from junior Tiffany Colon (Lawrence, MA).
