Womens Basketball Falls to Bentley 66-38
WALTHAM, MA – Bentley University built a 20-point halftime
lead and cruised to a 66-38 victory over the Merrimack
women’s basketball team Tuesday night at the Volpe Gym.
The Falcons got 11 first-half points from Kristy McLean and
another 10 from Kelly Barrett and limited the Warriors to just six
first-half field goals in 24 attempts. Bentley closed the first
half on a 14-2 run as the Warriors did not score in the final 5:35
of the half.
Bentley added another 33 points in the final 20 minutes, compared
to 25 for the Warriors.
Hannah DeGraffinreed (Raleigh, NC) led the
Warriors with 10 points, six boards and three assists.
Amanda Shannon (North Andover, MA) added nine
points on just four-of-13 shooting, while Tiffany Colon
(Lawrence, MA) grabbed eight boards and scored five
points.
Barrett finished with 20 points and 7-of-10 shooting, while McLean
added 16 points and seven boards. The Falcons shot 46% from the
field in the game, compared to just 28% for the Warriors. Merrimack
made just three three-pointers in the game.
Merrimack (2-9, 1-5 NE-10) hosts Le Moyne College on Thursday
night at 5:30 p.m. at the Volpe Gym.
