Men’s Track and Field Takes Part in Snowflake Classic at Tufts

MEDFORD, MA – The Merrimack men's track team competed in the Snowflake Classic on Saturday afternoon at Tufts University.

Two Warrior relay teams finished in the top two on Saturday afternoon as the team of Ethan Weaver (Brooklyn, CT), Evan Braz (Peabody, Mass.), Ian Weaver (Brooklyn, CT) and Luis Cruz (Lawrence, Mass.) finished in second place in the 4x400 meter relay in a school record time of 3:28.98. In the 4x100 meter relay Ethan Weaver, Anthony Arcari (Tewksbury, Mass.), Francesco Cuesta and Mike Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) took home the first place finish in a time of 44.31 seconds.

Ethan Weaver finished off his impressive afternoon with a third place finish in the 400 meter dash in a time of 51.26 seconds. In the 100 meter dash, Arcari qualified in the preliminary round with a time of 11.47 seconds and a fourth place finish. In the finals, Arcari improved on his time as he took third place in a time of 11.28 seconds.

Nour Shahin (Peabody, Mass.) continued to be the Warriors best field athlete on Saturday as he took home a second place finish in the discus throw after a throw of 45.18 meters. In the shot put contest Shahin finished in tenth place after a throw of 13.22 meters.

The Warriors will be action on April 7 as they will take part in the George Davis Invite.
