Merrimack Track Teams Start Spring Strong at Husky Carnival

BOSTON, Mass.- The Merrimack outdoor track team opened the inaugural outdoor track season at the Northeastern Husky Spring Carnival Saturday. The Warriors turned in a number of strong performances to kick-off the spring.

Anne Bajor (Methuen, Mass.) was the first Division II runner to cross the finish line in the women's 1,500 meter run. Bajor finished 11th in the event with a time of 4:56.

Rebecca Ainscow (Derry, N.H.) earned a sixth-place finish in the women's 10,000 meter run with a time of 30:24. Ainscow barely missed qualifying for the New England Championships. Briana Devereaux (Londonderry, N.H.) posted a sixth-place finish in the women's 5,000 meter run.

Merrimack garnered a pair of third-place finishes in the steeplechase in Harry Mullin (West Hartford, Conn.) on the men's side and Ashley Sarris (Shelton, Conn.) for the women.

John Doherty (Chelmsford, Mass.) captured 10th in the men's 10,000 meter run with a time of 34:41.19.

The Warriors return to the track March 26 as they get set to compete at the Bridgewater State Invitational.
