NORTH ANDOVER, MA - The Merrimack men's tennis team improved to 2-0 on the season with their second 9-0 victory of the season as they downed Le Moyne.
With the win over Le Moyne on Saturday, the Warriors finish off their fall season with a 2-0 overall record and also played good tennis in two division I Invitationals.
In singles action, Chris Barnhart (Longmeadow, Mass.), Matt Lipinski (Arlington, Mass.) and Petar Golijanin (Navi Sad, Serbia) all won their matches by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores. The freshman duo of Miguel Belfort (Caracas, Venezuela) and Matt Pronesti (Mission Viejo, Calif.) each won their matches handily by the score of 6-0, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-3 respectively. Vince Bellino (Amesbury, Mass.) finished off singles action with a 8-1 victory against his opponent from Le Moyne.
The duo of Golijanin and Belfort continued their hot play as they downed their opponent by the score of 8-0 while Lipinski and Pronesti continued their domination by the score of 8-1. Barnhart and Bellino also picked up a doubles point as they won 8-2.
The victory over Le Moyne on Saturday concludes the Warriors fall season as they will return to action on February 9 as they will travel to take on Bryant for a 7 p.m. match.
