SOUTH EASTON, MA- After capturing its first-ever outright Northeast-10 Regular Season title, the Merrimack men's tennis team will enter the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament as the No. 1 seed. The Warriors posted a perfect 11-0 record in league matches this season to go along with a 15-7 overall mark.
As the top-seeded team, Merrimack receives a first-round bye and will take to the courts April 19 for the semifinals. The Warriors will face the winner of the quarterfinal matchup between No. 5 Adelphi and No. 4 Stonehill April 17.
With a victory in the semifinal round, Merrimack will advance to its third Northeast-10 Tournament Championship match in four years.
Bentley earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament while Southern New Hampshire garnered the third seed and Le Moyne received the sixth slot.
Ranked fourth in the East Region, the Warriors are seeking to reach their fifth-straight and fifth-ever NCAA Tournament. Merrimack suffered a first-round loss to Philadelphia in last season's NCAA Tournament.
Petar Golijanin (Novi Sad, Serbia) leads the team with a 19-9 singles record on the year. The junior recorded an 11-0 mark in Northeast-10 matches this season. Sean Pahler (Rumson, NJ) sported a 10-1 singles record against league opponents this season. Vince Bellino (Amesbury, MA), Max Eppley (Malaga, Spain) and Chris Toegemann (Narragansett, RI) all won nine singles matches in conference action.
