Golijanin Captures Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – For the second time this year, first-year Petar Golijanin (Novi Sad, Serbia) of the Merrimack College tennis team has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the week, it was announced on Wednesday.

Golijanin recorded a 3-0 record this past week in a pair of Merrimack wins over Saint Anselm and American International. The Serbia-native allowed just five points on the week with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles against Saint Anselm and a 6-0, 6-2 No. 3 singles win against AIC. He also won at No. 1 doubles, 8-3, against Saint Anselm on Saturday.

On the year, Golijanin is 7-1 in dual matches and 4-0 in Conference competition. Currently riding a four-match win streak, he has led Merrimack to a tie for first (4-0) in the Northeast-10 Conference with Adelphi University—a team the Warriors square off with in Garden City, New York this Saturday at 10:00am.
