Sabadoz Earns Daktronics NCAA Division II All-American Accolades

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – On the heels of his Daktronics First Team All-Region recognition, sophomore Robbie Sabadoz (Ottawa, ON) was selected to the Daktronics Division II All-American Honorable Mention.

Sabadoz is the only sophomore named an honorable mention and one of six among the Daktronics NCAA Division II All-America teams.

With a program record-tying 19 goals this fall, Sabadoz led the Northeast-10 in points per game (2.35) and goals per game (1.12). As of November 29, Sabadoz was fifth in the nation in goals per game.

Scoring 62 career points thus far in North Andover, the sophomore ranks 13th all-time at Merrimack, while he is eighth all-time in terms of career goals (28), 30 goals shy of Fleming’s program mark. Sabadoz is equally talented in the classroom with a 3.85 GPA as a business major at Merrimack that landed him on the CoSIDA All-Academic Second Team.

Headlining the 2009 Daktronics NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer All-America First Team is the Ron Lenz National Player of the Year, senior forward Sam Charles of Montana State University-Billings. Charles, of Chiswell, England, broke the school and conference record with 24 goals in 2009. The Daktronics West Region Player of the Year finished his career with 69 goals and 156 points.

Sports information directors from NCAA Division II schools and conferences sponsoring men’s soccer selected the Daktronics All-America teams. The process begins at the regional level with all first team All-Region picks advancing to the national ballot. This is the fourth year Daktronics has sponsored the NCAA Division II men’s soccer All-America and All-Region teams.

The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The team is voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
