Motta Makes NE-10 All-Championship Team

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Senior Greg Motta
(Saunderstown, RI) was named to the Northeast-10
Conference All-Championship men’s soccer team after helping
Merrimack to an 11-7-1 record and a postseason berth.
Motta was instrumental in helping the Warriors to the
program’s fifth straight top-five finish in the conference,
including all four years that he was on campus.
In 75 career games, Motta manned the midfield and scored 13 goals
and five assists in the meantime. This season, Motta scored a pair
of goals (both of which were game-winners) and tallied four
assists.
“There really is no midfielder like him in the
league,” said head coach Tony Martone of his
senior captain. “He controls the tempo of the game and has
such an impact on offense and defense that is hard to
match.”
A Second Team All-Conference selection just last week, Motta will
graduate from Merrimack in the spring with a degree in Sports
Medicine.
