#14 Mens Soccer Routs Saint Rose 4-0
LATHAM, NY – Four different Warriors scored in 10:46 as
the 14th-ranked men’s soccer team blanked Saint Rose 4-0
Saturday afternoon.
Captain Matt Sanderson started the scoring at
16:08 with his second of the season. At 20:44, Kyle
Lortie tallied his first of the year heading in a corner
kick. Greg Motta would add the Warriors’
third goal at 25:57, getting his first of the year, taking a touch
pass from Adam Leone that was crossed by
Tiago Dalboni. Fifty-seven seconds later, Dalboni
would get his third of the season as he took a through ball from
Leone and beat a shell-shocked goaltender Patrik Ohlsson for
Merrimack’s fourth goal in a 10:46 span.
Rob Pedra did the rest as the senior goalkeeper
stopped seven shots for the clean sheet. He has not allowed a goal
in the last 334 minutes, spanning four matches.
Merrimack (6-1-2, 3-1-1 NE-10), which is ranked second in the
region, hosts Saint Michael’s on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Warrior
