Coskren And Lunney Named To NEILA D2 All-Academic Squad

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Merrimack seniors Patrick Coskren (Norwood, Mass.) and Corey Lunney (Little Silver, NJ) were named to the NEILA D2 All-Academic team, as announced by the NEILA on Tuesday.

Coskren finished out the 2013 season with one of the best seasons in program history from the faceoff circle. Coskren finished off the season going 166-for-268 in the circle which was good for 61.9 percent on faceoff's for the season. He also scooped up a NE-10 high 127 ground balls which ranks him second in school history for a season. He led the country in ground balls per game as he scooped up 9.07 ground balls a contest.

Lunney, the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year finished out his illustrious Merrimack playing career by leading the NE-10 in goals with 45 and points with 59. Lunney was one goal shy of tying his career-high in goals and he tied his career-high in total points. For his career, Lunney ranks second all-time in goals with 175 and points with 229. The three-time NEILA Player of the Year has recorded 40+ goals in three of his four seasons and ranks 10th all-time in ground balls with 117 in his career.

The Warriors closed out the 2013 season with an 11-3 overall record and a 10-1 conference mark, winning their first-ever share of the Northeast-10 Conference Regular Season title.
