NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Merrimack men's lacrosse senior captain Greg Melaugh (Billerica, Mass.) was named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week while Connor Reagan (East Lyme, CT) was named Goalkeeper of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday. Melaugh and Reagan led the Warriors to a 2-0 record including a upset victory over #1 Le Moyne.
Melaugh is the second Warrior to receive Player of the Week honors, along with Corey Lunney (Little Silver, NJ), while Reagan earns Goalkeeper of the Week for the first time.
Melaugh led the Warriors with eight points, six goals and two assists, during the Warriors 2-0 week. In the Warriors upset victory over #1 Le Moyne on Tuesday, Melaugh scored one goal and a team-high two assists. On Saturday, Melaugh scored a season-high five goals for the Warriors. Melaugh now ranks second on the Warriors with 14 goals and 17 points.
Reagan finished off his perfect 2-0 week for the Warriors with 2.29 goals against average. Reagan made a career-high 24 saves in the Warriors 5-3 victory over #1 Le Moyne, Merrimack's third time beat Le Moyne as the #1 team in the country in the past four seasons. In Saturday's victory over Saint Rose, Reagan stood tall making eight saves and only allowing one goal. For the season, Reagan holds a 7.50 goals against average while compiling a 4-1 record.
Merrimack (4-1, 3-0 NE-10) will hit the road for a conference game on Wednesday at 3 p.m. as they will take on Franklin Pierce.
